Aravindan’s ‘Thampu’ (1978) and Satyajith Ray’s ‘Pratidwandi’ (1970) will be screened during the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) under the category of Restored Indian Classics.The restored versions of both the movies were screened during the Cannes International film festival this year.

Aravindan’s ‘Thampu’ talks about the story of a circus group coming to a village and the people’s lives and geography of the village, wherein Satyajith’s ‘Pratidwandi’ tells the tale of Siddhartha who is faced with the bitter reality in the politically changing city of erstwhile Calcutta.The movies were restored under the Film Heritage Foundation.
