Total 138 patients under treatment

Thiruvananthapuram, April 17: In a day that brings much relief to Kerala, just one new Covid-19 case was reported in the State today, from Kozhikode district in a person who got the infection through local transmission.

At the same time, the test results of 10 patients under treatment in hospitals came as negative – six patients from Kasargod district, two in Ernakulam district, and one each from Malappuram and Ernakulam districts.

Till now, a total of 395 cases of Coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Kerala and 138 patients are presently under treatment in different hospitals across the State. The total number of recovered cases is 255.

The number of people under surveillance across the State has further come down to 78,980. Of these, 78,454 were quarantined at their homes and 526 were under observation are isolated at hospitals. 84 persons were hospitalised today. 18,029 samples from people with symptoms have been sent for testing so far and 17,279 samples have tested negative with no infection.
