Total 30 patients under treatment

Thiruvananthapuram, May 06: No new case of Covid-19 was detected in Kerala today. At the same time, seven patients under treatment have tested negative today. Six patients in Kottayam district including a native of Idukki district and one patient from Pathanamthitta district are those recovered from the disease. The total number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus infection in the State is 502 and 30 patients are still under treatment in different hospitals.

The number of people under surveillance across the State has come down to 14,670. Out of these, 14,402 are quarantined at their homes and 268 are isolated in hospitals. 58 persons were admitted to hospitals today.

Till now, 34,599 samples have been sent for testing and 34,063 samples have been confirmed with no infection. 1,154 tests were conducted today. As part of sentinel surveillance, 2,947 samples were tested from people in the high-risk category and out of these, 2,147 samples have tested negative.

There are six districts in the State with Covid patients and Kannur district still has the highest number of 18 patients. Eight districts are presently free of these patients.

Chief Minister, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan gave these details during his daily briefing on the Coronavirus situation in the State. “The decline in the number of people under surveillance is a matter of relief”, he added.

No new place in the State was declared as hotspot today. Currently, there are 89 hotspots in Kerala now.
