Total 25 patients under treatment

Thiruvananthapuram, May 07: For the second consecutive day, no new case of Covid-19 was confirmed in Kerala today while five patients under treatment have tested negative. Three patients from Kannur district and two in Kasargod district are those recovered from the disease. With this, the total number of recovery cases from Coronavirus infection in the State is 474 and 25 patients are still under treatment in different hospitals.
This was informed by the State Minister for Health, Smt K K Shailaja in a press release. “These are days of much relief for the State as no fresh cases were confirmed on May 1, 3, 4, 6 & 7”, she added.

16,693 persons are under surveillance in various districts across the State. Of these, 16,383 are under quarantine at their homes and 310 are in isolation at hospitals. 131 persons were hospitalised today.

Till date, 35,171 samples have been sent for testing and 34,519 samples have been confirmed with no infection. As part of sentinel surveillance, 3,035 samples were collected from people in the high-risk group – healthcare workers, migrant labourers and those with higher public exposure, and tested. Out of these, 2,337 samples have tested negative.

No new place in the State was declared as hotspot today but at the same time, 56 places have been exempted from the list. Presently, there are 33 hotspots in Kerala now.
