Following the themes of Inclusivity, Tolerance and Secularism; Eight documentary films curated by Amudhan R P will be screened at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival under the specialized category of ‘Endangered but Resilient!’
Lalit Vachani’s ‘The Boy in the Branch’, which follows the indoctrination of young Hindu boys by extremist groups, it’s sequal; The men in the Tree which showcase the contrast in the subject over eight years will be screened on the afternoon of August 27.
Deepa Dhanraj ‘s ‘What Has Happened to this City?’, a note of remembrance of the communal assassination in Assam and Nellie; What the Fields Remember by Subasri Krishnan, exploring the themes of an identity crisis in Assam; ‘A Foreigner in My Own Land’ are some of the movies that are to be screened in the category.
The story of survival and the scars of hate and violence that it leaves behind; discussed in the movie ‘The Color Of My Home, and The uprise against patriarchy discussed in Tathagata Ghosh’s ‘Scapegoat’ will also be screened under this special category.
