Kerala Police is gearing up to introduce a complaint box system in schools across the state as part of the new academic year’s initiatives. Under the leadership of the School Protection Group (SPG), these boxes will be installed in schools, allowing students to confidentially report their concerns. Complaints submitted will be reviewed and acted upon by the police, with an officer from the respective local police station assigned to each school. The primary goal of this initiative is to offer timely, discreet solutions to student issues while fostering a safe, healthy, and supportive school environment.

Complaints submitted through the complaint boxes will be opened and reviewed monthly by the Station House Officer or the designated officer in the presence of the school principal. These boxes will be installed in all schools, with complaints initially checked weekly during school reopening and subsequently on a monthly basis after three months. All information received will be handled with strict confidentiality. Issues that can be resolved within the school will be addressed at that level. In more serious cases, appropriate legal action will be taken, and complaints requiring the attention of other departments will be forwarded accordingly.

The school complaint box system introduced by the Kerala Police serves as a secure and reliable mechanism for addressing students’ concerns. This initiative aims to build trust among children in accessing justice while also empowering them to grow stronger both mentally and socially.
