Nine animated movies focusing on the diverse facets of life are all set to add brilliance to the 14th International Documentary and Short Film Festival Of Kerala, starting on Friday. With the themes of Survival, solitude and fantasy, two Malayalam movies make it to the category. The Tamil filmmaker Sethuramalingam’s ‘Among the stars’, Abhishek Verma and Jayesh Pillai’s ‘Manhole’ dealing with the exigency of a flawed economic life and caste identity, and Suchana Saha’s ‘Dear Me’ Following the journey to find oneself, are among the nine movies in the category.
Portraying the shades of demise and disbelief; Sethulakshmi’s ‘Arike’ and ‘Manjadikaalam’, following a metamorphic transition of grief and loss, are the two Malayalam movies in the category.
Suresh Eriyat’s JSW Steel All Around Us, Nila; dealing with the themes of desperation over the depleting resources for the survival of humanity, Sudheer P Y’s Brooding Sihouette and Vivek Prakash’s Toying Box are also part of the animated movie category.
