The short film Kiss Directed by Varun Grower,an unapologetic take on censorship is all set to be
screened at the IDFFK 2022. The short film unravels the complexity of an artist’s freedom to creativity by
highlighting the major factors that troubles it,patriarchy and censorship. Its shown through the story of a
filmmaker who is awaiting for the certification of his sci-fi movie by the censorship board panelled by
men where a kissing scene becomes becomes a trouble factor. The film take the audience into a
screening hall which can sense your feelings and also manipulate the speed of time depending on the
intensity of the person’s perception. It is screened under the non fiction competition category.
The director of the short who is renowned for his work in Udjta Punjab,Gangs of Wasseypur and
Masaan was involved in several censorship controversies.
